An A.R.M.Y.'s Journey | The Red Bullet II Experience
I can't remember well when I heard about BTS coming to Mexico but that was one of the best days of my entire life!!!
June 24th, 2015: Ticket sale
That day I wanted to wake up really really early because I thought they were going to sell tickets like bread but they didn't, fortunately I didn't wake up as early as I wanted, still, I got to the place at 8:00 am. and let me tell you that there was a big line.
That line was exclusively to get the V.I.P. ticket, apparently that ticket had some benefits such as a commemorative badge, early access to the place and of course preferential sits in front of the stage, although time after they gave away some official posters. About getting or not all the benefits, we'll be on that later.
So, almost at 11:30 am I got my ticket, a V.I.P ticket to "The Red Bullet Episode II in Mexico", by Talos I was this close to cry.
I wouldn't like to mention this but I think it's important since Mexico is my home, more specifically Mexico City. I know that we,Mexicans, are people of passion, we're passionate about many things but the big problem, the issue about this behavior is the lack of culture and respect, respect to others and to ourselves.
It's also important to mention that most of the fans that welcomed BTS at the airport got all hyped and crazy just because they were in front of their idols and I need to say that the security and the people responsible of handling situations like this were incompetent and that can be dangerous, not only for the artists but also for the fans.
And I NEED to say that I'm extremely disappointed at the fans camping outside the hotel, I just wonder, and I'd really like to know, where are their parents? Did their parents really taught them what respect is? Didn't they say anything when their children told them that they were going to sleep outside? Because I'm almost sure those girls and/or boys are underage to camp alone. Absolutely blameworthy. I read BTS couldn't leave their hotel so congratulations, mission accomplished! You can scratch "Make my idols feel uncomfortable in my country and make sure they never want to come back" from your To Do list.
I think I need to go deeper about fandoms and fans in the Kpop movement-culture-thingy in Latin America but that'll be another post.
July 29th, 2015. The Red Bullet Episode II in Mexico begins!
Finally! The most awaited day of the year (for me it was). I woke up really late, like really really late because I was sure that I was going to get inside the venue earlier, just like everybody else with a V.I.P. ticket thought.
I left home around 4:00 pm. and I got there around 5:20 pm.
*Prepare for the complaints.*
I was a little bit insecure when I got to the metro station near the venue so I just followed the people who looked like they were going to the concert as well (they were wearing shirts, hats, snapbacks) and that's how I didn't get lost. The night before I read the entrance was going to be through the main gate, gate 5, but when I was walking to gate 5 and found a small gate open surrounded by a lot of people, I'm the most curious person on Earth so I went to find out what happened and as soon as I got closer someone from the security team asked me if I had a ticket, I said yes and showed it to him and he let me passed through that gate, he let me passed just to get to the main line.
A friend of mine told me she wanted to get to the venue early so I decided to call her and she told me that she was inside, not were the main stage is but yet, she was inside and I was outside, she had a regular ticket. A group of girls were behind me talking about their commemorative badge and they were saying that they got the last badges, that bothered me a lot because I payed for it and I didn't get it. And the cherry on top was that we (the people with V.I.P. ticket) didn't get inside earlier. I had to stay like an hour and a half under the sun and I got inside around 7:00 pm.
Once inside I went to get information about the Hi-Touch event and one of the security staff told me that they were out of tickets (one big smh). Tons of girls were upset because of this but a little later a girl came to us and asked if we had tickets to the raffle of the Hi-Touch, we said no and she started to give tickets indiscriminately, some girls got up to 4 tickets, so unfair because not everyone got one. 300 people out of 1000 were going to touch BTS and I had a chance to be one of those 300. I got the number 419 but, I mean, the chances... I just put it inside my pocket and forgot about it.
Another noticeable detail was the stage. Let me explain, the tickets were expensive, not only the V.I.P. ticket, all of them. So the normal ticket supposedly was going to be near the stage, the stage had an I shape, so the production said people with the normal ticket was going to be next to the "base" of the stage and V.I.P. ticket on the sides, they wanted to split V.I.P. into two sections, that worked for me.
At the end the V.I.P. section was the only one closer to the stage, and the normal ticket was far back!
Everyone complained about this. So far we (V.I.P.) had, or we didn't have better said:
Early access
Commemorative badge
Tickets to the Hi-Touch raffle for everybody
This without mentioning that the place was like a hangar or something like that, some kind of storage big room *sighs*
Everyone was so loud I couldn't hear anything, almost anything, until I heard the beginning of the first song and there they were. My heart stopped!!!! I didn't want to record a lot, I wanted to enjoy the concert although when they were closer of course I needed to capture the moment, I uploaded some short videos to Vine.
And and and and, I lost it when they performed Cypher pt 3: Killer, it was crazy!!!! Killer, literally!!
One of the most touching moments of the concert was during Path/Road (길) because one of the fansites made banners to show during the song.
TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
It had two sides, one to show during 길 and the other to show at the very end. The beautiful in this is that Rap Monster noticed and he said some words about it, you can watch it in one of the videos of the playlist below. We all cried when this happened :'). Thank you so much ARMY, it was beautiful.
And a little bit more.
Here's a playlist of a fan cam, it sounds amazing although it looks not so well because of the zooming but It's worth to take a look :)
The concert finished, BTS said "Thank you" and we showed the other side of the banner of course we did that! Short after that I NEED YOU started to sound and ARMYs sang it, all the song!! I bet BTS felt overwhelmed by such detail.
"Even if we're far, we're under the same sky. Forever with you"
After singing out loud the raffle moment came, I heard screams here and there, they started from 1 to 1000, only mentioning the winner numbers. I was so tired I didn't look at my ticket, until the man on stage said 419, I wasn't sure if that was my number so I looked at it and YES! I was going to touch and say Hi to BTS!!
We are the champions, my 419!
There I was, once again on the line, waiting to touch their hands and that's pretty much it, I was in shock! First Jin, he's so handsome! Then I can't remember if it was Jimin or Suga but man oh man, Jimin has the most beautiful skin and his eyes! And Suga, I thought he was sassy but he's very sweet. Then Rap Monster, I love that man, I said that to him, I said something like "I love you so much, would you marry me?" and he just smiled and I was done! After Rap Mon it was V, and he said "Yes, yes" so I guess he accept my marriage proposal :'D. Last but not least there was J-Hope, his eyes, his hair, he, so perfect! All of them are so handsome and they're beautiful persons, I can assure you that.
Next time, we, Mexican ARMYs should give them a better experience!
If you're an ARMY and BTS hasn't performed in your country I really hope they do because I have no words to describe The Red Bullet! Every ARMY around the globe SHOULD and NEEDS to see them live!
